im awake, early again

man i could go for some coffee…
talia is still sleeping.
chloe is at her grandmothers.
its weird to not have her here in the morning.

i should vacuum. and clean the apartment.
but im being lazy.
my neighbors upstairs started vacuuming at like 7:30 this morning. don’t know how i should feel about that one.

im sitting here looking at negatives, i think im done using the xa2 for now. its not like my rangefinder.

a side note to remember i cant shoot and go out on st patricks day, i can see it in the negatives.
blur sucks.

my neighbors dog is crying again…stupid dog, not that i hate dogs i love them but i cant stand to hear it crying.

so i have been looking through scans and looking at the cds which i ordered from the walgreens with the negs. i wanted to see how much my scans differed from the scans they can do… only reason i like doing my own is because im able to show my images full frame instead of whatever they give me. but man there sure is a difference in the scans… some of them are awesome,

well i guess i should show you what i have…

this is emma she is our friends daughter. she is the sweetest little girl ever. this was frome St patty days. her grand parents always throw a St Pattys day party and this is from that night.

 

 

by this shot i had way to much scotch.

but its always fun to see public displays of affection. it makes me smile, im sure some people get grossed out but it always makes me smile.

 

 

seems like alot to be pulling…im sure he was tired by now, this was his 4 or 5th trip.

vicorias secret ad. i just find the ads interesting. i always love the typfaces, and it amazes me what they will show in a ad. and to be honest vicoria secret has some of the best marketing. i wonder how feel about this? but i know that guys pay attention to it too…

you tell me have my pictures started to suck because of using color and the xa2. i can tell the difference but people telling you is totally different.

haven’t really written anything this week mostly been tired to sleepy to talk or do anything. Trying to ride my bike to work and home, this combined with the heat this week is murder on me. Man im just noticing something i really need a haircut, funny how around summer i just let it grow long, and then it gets to hot so i cut it. 

im also needing to shave, i dont have alot since my face is so sensitive.

this week has been pretty busy. trying to finish a logo and actually trying to remember some web scripting been so long since i have done that stuff.

also attending a funeral tommorow at 7.

so i should be asleep now…
gotta shave first.

its funny…

someone actually tried to do a search and typed in the words “naked girl” and they found the previous post.

going through negatives now from the other day i took 5 rolls of that cheap ferrania stuff man this 200 speed looks awesome… the film just looks nice. but on the other hand as i was shooting my camera decides to have a shut down film kept advancing with no shutter opening lots of wasted shots…

i dont like wasting film…

though sometimes i feel like i should shoot everything.

but i still dont for whatever reason.

i have been thinking and i miss my canonet…think its time to go back and shoot that again… the oly xa2 has been fun but i took my canonet out for a spin the other night it was hard to focus, got to accustomed to framing and just shooting. i got a little lazy.

i can always tell there is a major difference between my color and BW stuff… color is hard to work with like i said. its challenging.

well i thought i would finish this post since im up… though i should go get some coffee… i went to bed at 3:00 am this morning and now im up to 7:00 am…

i wonder if at a certain age you start to become more of a morning person instead of a night owl.

well i should show you some photos now…

these were all shot on either 200 or 400 speed Ferrania Solaris on the xa2. and that cheap plastic panoramic camera.

 

Talia and Chloe at the park last weekend. i love these weekend adventures. cant wait till it gets warmer and then the water on this thing will be on so we can take Chloe to play in the water. fun times ahead.

 

 

there was also this big dog sitting in the back of this truck while we were leaving. he was sitting in the back he had a bed and a carpet to lay on… for a second he looked scary but after awhile he was more interested in smiling.

 

as you can see i worked up enough courage to go in closer.

 

 

my kitchen was also dirty time for some spring cleaning… me thinks. i really like this 400 film. its kinda nice. a little grainy but its ok. i like that it really brings out the reds.

he was in back of me and looking at this woman that was a little overweight.. honestly he looked totally disgusted…shooting from the hip cause i didnt want to feel his wrath. i dont know what to think about that, i mean the whole looking disgusted look.

morning coffee… venti vanilla late. and my old Motorola phone that they dont make no more.

 

 

stolen cart. on my way home from getting coffee. i like the running feet. on the front… i wonder if the people were running from the store when they stole the cart. thought it was kinda funny.

 

 

I went to breakfast with Stuart, i spent the day with Chloe and asked him if he wanted to go to breakfast with me and her. the girl in the back to his left, he was trying to work up the courage and ask for her number but he didnt do it. he was hungover in this pic. on another note like 10 minutes later we saw the element skate team there for breakfast.

here is the roll from the cheap plastic camera. i keep wanting to put a roll through it and something always happens to it. i dropped it on carpet the other day and it literally blew up i mean i dropped it from a foot high and it exploded… i thought that was funny. so i broke out with the cure for all plastic cameras… ie. electrical tape and put it back together… i guess we will see if it works still.

man and these are from the beginning of the month i really need to finish my rolls of film. once i put them in a camera. sometimes i have like 3 cameras in my bag. ridiculous i know.

well thats it for now. im back to the canonet went for coffee this morning and got caught taking photos im not as fast as i was i think… so that tells me i need to shoot with that again.

im on the computer, talia sitting on the couch reading her new interview magazine she got a subscription for free somewhere and after 8 long weeks its here. so picture this she comes across this image of a naked girl and starts saying she looked awful because she was so skinny and wondered if it was real, she said I’m sure it is photoshopped but she looks crazy. so think about this I’m a guy and there is a naked picture of a girl. any other male would run over and say let me see…

well i go let me see and then i cant really see it and go back to what I’m doing. well a couple of minutes run by and talia comments on the way the magazine is organized and how the fonts and headlines are laid out. i say again let me see and run over to look… for a split second i laugh at myself and tell talia man a couple of minutes ago you try to show me a naked girl and i say ill look later but when a comment about fonts and grids comes up im right over there…

who doesn’t love a grid, a nice organized layout and a nice font used in a magazine.
i just had to write about that…

and i just did a search and learned that interview was made by andy worhol and Gerard Malanga in 1969

so ive been trying to type a blog for the last 10 minutes but for some odd reason safari decides it doesn’t like me typing for whatever reason.
sometimes i hate using safari i should just use good ol’ firefox.

well on to other topics on hand, last night me, talia and chloe spent the night with our Irish family. for the last 4 years or so we always go to our friend Joyce’s families house to eat and partake of the festivities. they honestly make the best food.

i always find it funny that older people in there 60’s and 70’s can still drink and have fun. take for instance the party starts at about 5:30 in the evening and by 9 everyone is leaving to go home. i think my favorite time of the night is catching up with everyone and listening to everyone sing songs. but that was the evening.

though i must admit i was a little sad i did not get to wear my “im not Irish but kiss me anyway” shirt it was in the dryer. i missed the old lady’s giving me kisses…

on another note film to come sometime this week…

dang and we just found out that we are on our last roll of toilet paper and we just came back from walmart not 5 minutes ago…
it seems fate has dealt me a bad hand of cards this night…

i did some research and found out one of my cameras i picked up at the goodwill is actually a “action sampler” i think i said it takes 4 pictures on one 35mm shot. i was looking at the lomo site today and i noticed that camera looked like mine.  so i looked at it closely when i got home and low and behold there it is… i cant believe that they are selling them for 30 bucks on that site. i found mine for 3 bucks at a goodwill…

thats just insane to me…
i know lomo is all about the 10 rules… hell i bought into it for awhile thats kinda how i got into shooting film again but i wasnt going to spend so much money on a lomo i found a cheaper version a yashica electro 35 and hence my entry into rangefinders. but man it makes me feel cool knowing i found one for so cheap. but to be honest i would still like a lomo but cant see myself spending so much money for one. one of the things good about lomo is that they are a true believer in film.

cant be upset with them about that.    

on a side note i miss heather’s posts… 

this weekend was intresting to say the least. baptisms and domestic violence. all rolled into a weekend. funny how those things happen. Yesterday we attended my brothers from another mothers son’s baptism which was really nice to see. its not every day that a young man is willing to try and serve God. it was a nice way to spend the evening together. though the dinner was something else. we tried some different locations rigatonys then sweet tomatoes…but they were not really willing to serve us for some odd reason, so we ended the night with some sub par food at a sports bar. honestly it was fun.

but as the night progressed it seemed apparent that good times were not in store. we got home and me or talia didn’t feel so good i felt nauseous and talia didn’t feel any better talia seemed to get a upset stomach and so did i.

but i recovered but she wasn’t so lucky she is still fighting as of right now. well at about 3 this morning there was a fight across the hall the neighbor girl and her boyfriend. talia thinks that he was beating her up she called the police the police came and separated them, making the boyfriend leave. the cop seemed to get things under control. thank goodness, but it made talia upset for the rest of the night. she slept all morning still nauseous, me and chloe took my brother to breakfast this morning. though he was a little hungover and nauseous himself. so conversation was sparse.

well now here i am sitting her typing this out and scanning images as always. seems like im always here doing this routine. i also got to play with stu’s new pioneer 400 mixer cant wait to really play with it. i tell you that is a sexy mixer, as this is a sexy film i really like the colors it gives not bad for a $1 a roll. this is still the same stuff, the Ferrania Solaris 200 and 400 expired and not expired… i really love this stuff. cant wait to shoot it through a yashica.

this is breakfast…i really like this shot for some odd reason… i knew the xa2 was going to expose for outside. but i love how it picked up the simple highlights on there faces.

and one of reese he has started to loose teeth…as you can see he is missing his two front teeth… its funny i dont remember myself at that age loosing teeth i cant remember the feeling… im pretty sure it grossed me out for some odd reason though.

 

 

out shopping…saw her sitting there…i like her shoes im pretty sure she was on the phone i could be mistaken she might be blocking the sun or trying to avoid me…

 

 

lees sandwiches…my new favorite joint… i really enjoy using this camera it is a no thinking camera. frame, pick your distance, and shoot…

if you know the camera it is quick. although at times it is a bit slow it is prone to motion blur, i really love using the 35 lines though. if could buy a camera that i actually was able to see the 35 lines i would be happy indeed. you can fill it with so much. sometimes not enough though, the canonet uses a 40 lens im used to it now but i do like the 35 for reasons like this.

 

 

me and my coworker got tired of sitting in front of our laptops while we were out in the community for our mobile pay station so we took a walk she took me to this old house that was near hers. i took some photos.

 

 

there was a cat living here he scared the crap out of us…

 

 

i like how the room had collapsed into a fan like shape.

thought it was cool.

 

 

and further down the road there was another. i liked the wallpaper surrounded by the wood texture.

it was the only spot that still had it on the wall.

 

 

this was the entrance to the second house. it was more scarier than the first. it led down 4 bedrooms until it reached that back room that is all dark we ventured into the side four rooms but not the back room we looked inside and from what we could see it was the bathroom…

honestly it was pretty scary.

 

 

this was from the same day, on my way home from my moms place on the rezervation, evenings like this remind me of my youth how it was in the summer, and now it makes me want to move back home sooner.

 

 

well on to some other stuff…i took this while on my bike. he was waiting for the bus…for some odd reason i thought i was closer.

 

 

these guys were working i wish i had remembered to switch my distance scale…

but i like nontheless…

 

 

and last but not least is my morning cup of coffee on the weekend. this is my favorite time of day waking up taking a shower jumping on my bike, cold but still sitting outside, with a cup of coffee by my bike. looking and watching people around me. this is my morning on a weekend, like i said if i dont have at least this i feel out or sorts. but when i do get it i enjoy it.
